Short vid showing the engine spinning over without engine cases
What exhaust is on that? Or was there no exhaust
That is in great condition ! Always preferred these to Hondas offerings of the time .
Graduar balbula
My first real motorbike. I had this in blue and went everywhere on it…
Yep, I had one in 1980….nice bike, warm red dials at night….bit bright….rear drum wash….bit weak, pretty reliable and easy to ride, I used to plug in heated gloves into the alternator section…..almost burnt my hands off…..great days…..great bike and oh so very un pc……..those were the days
I has one too in 1980. I think was the first year they came out still rember the reg EDP 857V lol I tried to see if I could buy the plate and put it on my Audi v10 r8 spyder but couldn't find it. My gsx was red too and in the day they looked so cool and still do. I was gonna buy a rd 250 white one with red mags. But the looks of this on looked amazing, but didn't sound as good a the rd 250.
shite!
How many HP?
I've gone all teary eyed seeing this. Rode the GSX 250 E back in the 80's . Worked as a despatch rider in London, England on it and toured the UK on it with work. This bike will always hold fond memories for me, some might even include that soft hug around the waist from the odd female pillion. THANKS for the memories.

I'd like info on that seat if any can be had please.
had 3 off these at time it was brill after moving from 125 top speed 85 to 90 not bad in them how time move on got gsr and zx12 now
I had one of these in the mid 80's, super reliable & well balanced, engine pulled well in all gears
I had one these two in 1980s reg was EDP857V id did try to find out if I could get this reg to put on my audi v10 r8 spyder but sadly not. Where beautiful bikes.
The round head light really looks great! Now you need a Kerker 4 into 1! These bikes were the CHEAPEST 4 cyl bike in their day, yet ran 12.05 - 12.50 1/4 mile! That FJ motor was a jewel.
These things must be rare as hens teeth now. I remember them coming out in the late 70's. Suzuki's answer to the Honda Superdream, but was not as popular. I had three Honda's, but didn't like the styling of the Suzuki. I did like its twin cam engine, which had a gear driven engine counter balancer. However, I still prefer the look of the old Superdream's. The GSX looked too much like the X7, which I also owned at one point, but hated it, because it seemed cheap and nasty compared to the Honda's I owned. Love the old Suzuki GT triples though, especially the GT750. It was one of my all time favourite bikes, never owned one, but got to ride one once.
I agree the super dream was a better looking bike especially at the back. I used to have a cb400n but I hated the engine as it was a 360 degree crank it was a very harsh and sounded crap when pushed. I much prefered the gsx250s 180 crank engine. I no longer have the gsx but I do have fond memories of it
donutdo2you I know the Superdream had a 360 degree crank, and that's why it had counter balance weightsbuilt into the engine to offset the imbalance of both pistons rising and falling together. I owned three of thesebikes back in the 70's and early 80's, and all ran as smooth as silk. Problem was, they soon ran, and soundedlike a bag of nails if not serviced regularly. The main problem was that the counter balance weights were, atleast on the Honda, chain driven. This chain needed to be adjusted every so often to keep the engine sweet. On the N series onwards, there was a circular slotted cover on the clutch side of the engine. This needed tobe unscrewed every now and then, and the appropriate socket inserted, to gently slacken, but NOT undo, thelock nut inside the engine. Then retightening, this allowed a spring loaded quadrant to take up any slack inthe balancer chain mechanism, then replacing the slotted cover. You would not believe how much quieter theengine sounds after this. The cam chain tensioner, is located at the rear of the barrels, and simply slackeningand then retightening this, with engine not running also makes these engines a whole lot smoother running.
They probably were very smooth running. I know the cover you're meaning for the chain balancers. Mines was chrome coloured. I done that and the valve clearences which helped a bit. I also done the cam chain it was a size 8 or 10 bolt that held the tensioner if I remember correctly. I think I also put it I gear and moved the rear wheel on the centre stand to take up the slack on the camchain. I think the engine I had was near the end of its life though. Nothing short of an engine overall would've cured it. What I will say for it was it never broke down on me or gave me any hassle, which I can't say the same for the gsx. The electrics started to give me hassle melting fuse holders and the such
+Gary Dunn MOZE SLIKA TOG SRAFA ZA STEZANJE LANCA ?CAN PICTURE THAT screws TIGHTENING CHAIN?
I had one these in 1980 my friend had super dream and this looked far better
Where did you get the circular headlight?

ko ni lembu ke?
It lets it know that someone cares about it
Its the sheer v-twin power making it sound like that.

just bought myself a 1994 650, roll on the good times!!
This was my second motorcycle. Drove it all over Europe. Great bike!
I want one now
I had one back in "87". I noticed the headlight right away. Looks much better than the square. The engine had a great sound. I went and installed a pichler fairing, but this caused the bike to get a bad wobble at just over 100 mph. Otherwise I had a blast on that bike, sorry I sold it.
@mstump513 Lol, Im glad people find the horn funny.I think it sounds like the roadrunner.
@154Youngblood Amazing. MEEP. Had me in stitches
i like the headlight im nnot big on square headlights on bikes
@rjcub69 no problem, I'm unsure what you mean by rivets? thanks :)
@rjcub69 Hi, the bike was acquired like that, it looks like the previous owner drilled out more holes on the exhaust to make it louder, as it is the standard exhaust system.
@rigidnips Hello, does the engine run really hot? , have you checked the float height settings in the carburetor to make sure they are within spec, also have you checked the air filter to make sure its not dirty? and make sure you have a bright blue spark. It could also be the clutch slipping slightly do the revs rise when you go up hills or in a wind.Id look at these first. Thanks
@podgie08 Hello,i got it on ebay, its off a honda superdream, but the original dream, hawk or the 400/4 will have the same headlight.
where did you get the round headlight for the bike?
@jrwoodsy well if you watched the video,i didnt use the choke i was showing people that it can start without choke from cold.
